For Advanced Styling (FS 434), Fall 2026 semester. An analysis of British designer Stella McCartney’s designs as creative director of Chloé from 1997-2001 presents a potential collaboration between McCartney’s own eponymous label and the current creative director at Chloé, Chemena Kamali. To celebrate the the thirtieth anniversary of her appointment at Chloé is a proposed six-piece collection referencing the design elements of her most iconic collections to match the current demand for her vintage pieces. McCartney’s most famous design is arguably her immensely-popular Falabella bag, a 100%-vegan slouchy handbag with a chain strap and details, and a release of six bags representing iconic motifs from her collections at Chloé would be highly successful given the scarcity of archival Chloé relative to current demand. The collection consists of six Falabella fold-over totes, with “Midnight Sequin”, “Hummingbird”, and “Happy New Year” in silver hardware, and “Pin-Up”, “Girl”, and “Pineapple” in gold.
